Marriage is funny. You spend practically every waking moment you are NOT working/going to school and you live with someone that you fancy. They take on your imperfections, you deal with theirs. You even sleep in the same bed, and somehow, it is comforting. Basically, you meet someone and decide you want to spend the rest of your life with them. For me, I knew I wanted to marry Spencer within the first week of talking on the phone. I just decided, like that. There was only so much I knew about him, and over the year that we dated before we got married, I got to know him better. However, when you get married you still don’t know anything about your spouse. Sometimes I tell a childhood story and Spencer reminds me I have told it a few too many times (although, he let’s me continue), other times he is surprised to find out a funny anecdote from my younger years. Even now, as we have been living together for 5+ months I find out interesting facts… Most recently that he is impartial to soups. “Like, soups?” Yeah, like soups. Something that is so simple to know, yet so easy to pass up. Just last week we looked at each other while driving home from the grocery store and I said, “Isn’t it weird that we spend every day together and we don’t get sick of each other? You’re my best friend.” Touching really. Then I went on and doused myself in imperfection as I mentioned how even the best of girlfriends got on my nerves after spending 3 consecutive days together. Family is different. They just get you, and even when you do get annoyed and take it out on them, it is not usually detrimental. I guess what I am saying is that I am happy and crazily shocked that I found someone in my life that I chose to call family, and that he puts up with my decision every day. Love you, Spence!
I am still going on with this black vibe over here. Slightly worried that someone might actually think I am morose or depressed. Nope, not to worry. At least the bright green chiffon back to my Urban Belle dolman shirt breaks up the mood a bit. I think everyone should wear all black once in awhile. It’s like family, it just gets you.

October 13, 2014Hi Lauryn I'm so glad to find your blog via the Beautiful You Linkup. Your outfit is great! I am a color girl so I always feel weird wearing all black. It looks good on other people, but for me I just always need a little bit color. I like how you added the pop of color in the back. Those boots are perfect for the fall. I just recently got a pair in brown. I would love to invite you to the #WhatWivesWearLinkUp. If you are interested we link up every Thursday at godlifehappywife.blogspot.com. I hope you can join us! I look forward to following you. Have a great week! ~Sherri
