Detox Bath

Okay, so I have posted on this topic before here.
You cannot really blame me for loving such a wonderful thing!

Since it is the new year, new you time, I am sure everyone is trying everything under the sun to diet, exercise, and detox their way to health and beauty. What you might be missing from that routine is a detox bath. It is more effective then it might sound!

All you really need are things you can find around your house:

epsom salt, baking soda, ground ginger, apple cider vinegar, lemon juice, and essential oils.

On the previous post about this bath, I gave a step by step tutorial. Now, I am going to say go with your gut! Throw the mixture together in a tub full of water- as hot as you can handle. Just make sure that you don’t throw more than can dissolve!

Depending on my mood I will mix different essential oils.
If I want:
Focus– peppermint and orange
Relaxation– lavender and eucalyptus
Healing– eucalyptus and tea tree
Clear mind– lemon and orange

Now, grab a book, or my favorite, set up your computer with a movie and sit in the bath for at least an hour. or until it gets lukewarm.

Now I know you’re asking, what are the benefits?
The epsom salt draws toxins out of your body.
Heat from the water makes you sweat.
Ginger raises body temperature, causing more sweat.
Apple cider vinegar is good for your skin as well as detoxes and makes body more alkaline
Baking soda cleanses and is anti-fungal.
Lemon juice reduces oil and brighten skin.
Essential oils each have their own health benefits!

Enjoy your bath and the detox that will take place. Remember, always brings lots of water (I will drink about 50 oz. while I take this bath, you sweat a TON).
