huipil bag
HUIPIL (we-pill)- Handwoven embroidered fabric made in Guatemala.
It’s actually a pretty special material. Women spend hours weaving and creating beautiful designs, usually making clothing out of them. My husband served his LDS mission in Guatemala for two years and we have talked about how hard the little old ladies would work on their artwork. Having an item from a place that means so much to my husband feels really special. I once asked him if the huipils are traditional wear for the Guatemalans. His reply was that while most wish they could wear such beautifully garnished clothing, sometimes it just isn’t practical.

AND Sometimes they are expensive.  However, out of every single place I have seen selling one of these handwoven bags, LA Bela Bags has the best quality for their prices. (I sound like an infomercial? I am just so happy to finally find these bag for such a great deal).

As for the grey (the English spelling is so much prettier than gray), or granite, bodycon dress… it’s a yes from me. The dress came straight from Monrow Attire, a minimalistic clothing company. As I have been testing out their clothing, there is one thing I have noticed over and over: they are so forgiving! Normally, a bodycon dress would give me some major anxiety over my trouble area (READ: “the pouch”). On the contrary, this dress has a bandage bottom (that clings to your legs nicely) but is loose around the hip area. Because, let’s be honest, I’m all about that bass– no treble.
