Just a quick reminder that it is Teachers’ Appreciation Day on May 3rd (tomorrow), so hurry your little butts over to the store and buy something for your favorite teachers (like me, duh) and send it to school with your students. It means the world to us when you remember the little celebrations!
What is Color by Amber? They are this amazing jewelry company that not only provides work for woman in countries like Nepal, but they reuse recycled materials to create unique items. The handmade jewelry (in a small way) prevents environmental degradation by reusing products that are usually thrown away. For instance, the brown bracelet that I am wearing on my left hand is made of a used coffee filter! Not only does the piece tell a story, but I know that it was created by an artist in a sustainable way, and provided means for said artist to live (with an above market wage) in a way that is healthy and better for her children.
I will admit, the jewelry didn’t speak to me when I first looked at it. Once I heard the background stories, I was enthralled. I became even more attached to the pieces once I created an “arm party”, mixing and matching to fit my outfit. Get ready to see more of the fun and creative jewelry on more of my outfit posts coming up!

July 6, 2016I love the coordination over all in your outfit. I especially love the shade of blue. It is so unique: I love the hint of gray and purple. Your ensemble is casual, comfortable and still glamorous.
