Have you met my best friend Violeta Granados? She owns the Instagram @justanotherinstagal and is not only a boss lady, but she is also hilarious. Violeta is Mexican and wanted to share in her native culture’s holiday of Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead). I happily joined in as she told me how they celebrate, remember, and prepare special gifts for their loved ones that have passed. There is the tradition of setting up altars with photos of loved ones to put gifts on for. Some people even dress up as the dead to attend parties!
We met with Ashley Razo, from ForeverAshh.com and her sister, BeautyByShellss, to achieve this fantastic, beautiful, spooky, sacred, and intimidating face makeup. They were so fun to work with! We simply had to show them the look we wanted to achieve from a picture, and they were spot on (with a little touch of uniqueness and creative design).
When Violeta proposed the idea of this shoot to me, I knew that Stacie from GoodWaves.co was the photographer to capture the concept! She does wonderful with editorial and high fashion shoots, and captures dark imagery well! You wouldn’t believe me, from the look of the cool edits, but it was 90+ degrees the day we shot!
I am so excited to be teaming up with V and hosting a Dia de lost Muertos party this month. Trust me, there will be plenty of pictures to come 😉

October 6, 2016I love your look here! It reminds me a great deal of one of those Monster High characters. (Check her out here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01ARGAYSE/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1475720590&sr=8-1&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=monster+high+skelita) I thought it was so cool when Madonna incorporated this style into her Rebel Heart Tour last year.
