Easy Way to Straighten Teeth at Home

Let me start by saying that I have always had pretty good teeth. My teeth aren’t perfect, but they certainly never made me lose confidence! However, I have always had a few gaps in between my teeth, and have definitely wanted to straighten teeth without braces. My left incisor tooth also overlaps my front tooth, causing what I call a “snaggle”. The more I have started filming myself in front of a camera, the more I have begun to notice the little flaws in my teeth. After debating back and forth between getting my teeth straightened or letting them be, I finally found a solution that fits my busy schedule with at-home invisible teeth aligners!

Straighten Teeth with Braces Alternatives

Admittedly, I have taken some pretty ridiculous measures to try and straighten my teeth. When I was younger, I used to have my friends with braces give me some of their tiny rubber bands for me to use. Although silly, I would take the rubber band and stretch it across my top front teeth, letting it sit there for hours. Since this caused a bit of soreness, in my young 10 year-old mind, I believed I was closing the gap between my teeth.

As I got older, my teeth crowded my mouth more, and the imperfections of my chompers began to show through more. I debated getting braces, but I felt that a teeth straightener to that extreme was a bit too juvenile. I give so much respect to adults that wear braces, but I felt like I would never feel confident enough to wear them around all the time! Luckily, there are braces alternatives now!

For example, now instead of wearing wires, rubber bands, and getting adjustments by an orthodontist, teeth aligners are now available as braces alternatives. This aligners are clear, so no one will be able to know that you are busy working on straightening your teeth. This aesthetic factor is a huge pull for me to use Smilelove.

Straighten Teeth at Home

In addition to being more aesthetically pleasing, Invisalign is more convenient than traditional teeth straighteners! First, you can take an assessment to see if you are a good candidate for the clear aligners. This assessment is completely free.

Next, you get an impression kit sent to you in the mail! This is where you take four samples (two of the top, two of the bottom) of your teeth by making molds of them! By providing these teeth molds, this helps to create a unique preview of your straightened teeth and an estimate of how long the treatment will take. Most treatments average 4 to 10 months, which is much less time than using braces to straighten your teeth. Making the molds of your teeth takes about 30 minutes all together, and the package comes with a shipping label so that you can easily send the impressions back!

Once you receive a preview of your straightened teeth and a treatment plan, you will be sent a package of all the aligners for your treatment, a case, and any of the information you need for trading the aligners out!

My Initial Thoughts on the At-Home Teeth Straightener

While I was debating whether or not clear aligners were right for me, I thought about a lot of possibilities and scenarios. A few of my worries and concerns, are:

  • Will I have a lisp?
  • Is it difficult having to remove the aligners for eating and drinking anything but water?
  • Do the adjustments hurt?
  • How long will my treatments take?

Obviously, these questions will all be answered once I experience the aligners myself. No two treatments, or set of teeth, are the same! This means that in order to find out, I will have to trust that I will love the experience and end up with straight teeth! If you have questions about my treatment or my teeth please reach out in the comments or Contact Me here.
