The 8 Most Instagrammable Places in Miami

9 Comments 5 min read

Let’s face the facts: in this tech savvy world, everyone is looking for the most picturesque spots to capture a photo while traveling or on vacation. Many Instagram influencers would argue that getting the perfect shot is the essence of making memories while globetrotting. While I love to seize the moment on the go, I’ve come to learn about sustainably producing beautiful travel imagery. As I share these images and places in Miami, please remember to treat everything with respect and leave it as you found it!

Instagram-Worthy Spots in Miami, Florida

Wynwood Walls and District

Of course, most people know about the famous Wynwood Walls in Miami! In 2009, Tony Goldman came up with the idea to transform the warehouses into canvases for street art. This instantly revitalized the area and brought more of a community feel. Not only will you find a ton of artists’ mural work while visiting the streets, but you can also chow down on delicious food and hang out at hip bars! Both of these Instagram photos (above and below) were taken on one of the many walls in Wynwood (photos were taken near 2520 NW 2nd Ave, Miami, FL 33127). If you’re looking for the ultimate photoshoot, I suggest you scope out the walls first, writing down their addresses, to get a feel for the look you want!

Miami Beach Colorful Beach Chair Rentals

Take a look at the South Beach geotag on Instagram and you’ll find a colorful array of beach chairs! Many of the hotels along Miami Beach offer chair, umbrella, and bottle service. The above photo was taken beachfront by the SLS South Beach where you can find pink chairs and pink and white striped umbrellas. Rental for each item runs about $20 a day and does not include food or drinks. If you’re looking for chairs of different colors, check out the beach in front of The Confidante where they are striped all colors of the rainbow. My pink beach chair photo was taken at the beach by 1701 Collins Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33139.

Brickell, Miami

Brickell, also known as the Financial District, is full of urban art! In true Miami form, Brickell has murals and walls decorated with color. Take a walk around the urban neighborhood of Downtown Miami and find yourself immersed in art! Around every corner you’ll find blooming flowers and light colors. This is also a great area to go grocery shopping or visit gyms. The below black and blue photo was taken at 625 SW 1st Ave, Miami, FL 3313. The below pink and blue photo was taken at 809 SW 1st Ave, Miami, FL 33130.

Midtown, Miami – D Bakers

Naturally, we rode our bikes everywhere! On our way to cross the Venetian Causeway, we would always pass by D Bakers– apparently a famous bakery! Taking a note from the culture of Miami, they have four murals on the wall outside their store that all have to do with baking and sweets. It’s definitely worth checking out! Below photo taken on the walls by DBakers located at 3501 NE 2nd Ave, Miami, FL 33137.

Miami Design District

The Design District, which came to life in 2000, is known home to art galleries, showrooms, and shopping! If you’re looking to be inspired by design culture, this is the place to go! Spencer and I stayed in an AirBnB in this area, so we rode our bikes or walked near the gorgeous Miami buildings ever day during our stay! One of the cutest spots (in my humble opinion) was this restaurant with Spanish vibes and delicious food! Next door, there is also a cool elephant plant sculpture that is a must-see. Find this place at 4312 NE 2nd Ave, Miami, FL 33137.

South Beach, Florida Lifeguard Towers

Whenever you think of Miami, I am sure that South Beach comes to mind! While there were many fit people lounging in the sand, I was relieved to find that having an average body is just as normal! What is abnormal about South Beach is the colorful lifeguard stands! The below photo (taken at 64th Street) is different from the other stands you will find on the beach in Miami because each one has unique colors and shapes! The lifeguards are pretty used to the towers being used for photo opportunities, but it’s always nice to ask before you climb on!

South Beach Sand Bar

One of the things I had to get used to at Miami Beach was the sun setting behind me! Coming from the West Coast, I am used to it setting in front of me. Another cool thing I found out about Miami Beach: it has shallow waters! Not only was the water warm, but it also clear! Being so shallow means that you’ll find many sand bars along the coast. This provides a great opportunity to head out in the water with a camera and take a mermaid photo! Just remember to watch out for waves!

Collins Avenue Shopping & Art Deco Buildings

If you’re looking for a true beach experience, you have to visit Collins Ave! It’s the equivalent of a boardwalk with tons of food, the old Versace mansion (tours only available if you eat there), souvenir shops, and amazing architecture. Collins Avenue buildings are known for their art deco style and almost every single one of them is picture-worthy! Spencer and I spent time going around and taking photos of our favorites and enjoying the surrounding palm trees.
