Let’s get something straight right off the bat: I don’t have perfect skin. The second thing I would like to admit is, even as imperfect as it is, it takes a lot of work to get it there! We are talking oils, and creams, and cleansers, and tools, and masks, and a whole lot of patience.
To be honest, it is really, really hard for me to want to wash my makeup off at the end of the day. It’s still my number one skincare rule, though. Above all else, including showering, at least wash your face. (Did I just say that?) Wash it even if you went makeup free. Wash it at night, splash with water in the morning.
The second rule isn’t so much a rule as it is a motto: Behind every successful woman is a powerful moisturizer. Use SPF in the morning, and a creamy moisturizer at night.
Good Medicine Beauty Lab is one of those magical skincare lines that not only writes beautiful descriptions on their website, but actually sells beautiful, quality products. Get this: they are natural. Doesn’t it make you feel better to put something on your skin– the biggest organ of your body– that comes right from nature? It make me feel really happy, in case you were wondering.
My first step at night is to put two drops of Rain oil on my (dry) face and massage it in. Since the product is oil based, it isn’t going to rub in exactly, but it will remove makeup! You’re sitting there thinking, “But I am already an oily person, why would I put more on my skin?” Uhmm, because oil attracts oil. DUH. Ever put water and oil in a jar? They repel each other. Now, remind me how you were washing your face with water based products?
Then, wash off the oil with a warm washcloth. Get a dime sized amount of Clarity moisturizer and apply it to your face; massage it in. If you want to combat oil, add one drop of Rain to every dime sized amount of Clarity. Again, “Why add more oil to combat oil?” Well, your face is overproducing the oil because it thinks it doesn’t have enough. Just do it.
Once a week, use Sand and Honey Bee masks to restore and rejuvenate the human canvas– the face! Sand is actually desert mineral sand with a killer exfoliating power that won’t rub you raw. It is also great at killing any bacteria that might be clogging facial pores. After using sand, Honey Bee, honey from wild desert bees, will heal skin from the previous week’s wrong doings.
To add a little extra pampering, I spritz myself with Wonder– a botanical perfume of magnolia, coconut, and vanilla. I also love to put Wild Child hair oil on the ends of my hair to nourish my tresses from the heat damage that I have unfairly put it through.
