What was getting my spirit painted like?
The process of getting your spirit painted is captivating from start to finish! Jonny will set up his stuff and introduce himself and will begin by getting to know you just a bit. It basically works sort of like an interview, except instead of taking notes, Jonny paints as he learns more about you. After he is done painting he will reveal the painting to you and then give you some of his insights about you and why he painted the colors and forms that appeared on your panel.
I got to experience spirit painting twice.
When Lauryn got hers done back in Hawaii I got to be a part of the process. I sat quietly next to her while Jonny interviewed her and asked her a few questions. He eventually involved me in the interview for Lauryn’s painting. Sometimes it helps the spirit painter to have a foil there to better understand the subject. It was a fun experience to be a spectator too.
When I had my spirit painted, it was much the same. Lauryn was there to spectate and contribute where appropriate. The experience when you’re getting your own does is different. I always say that the most interesting thing to people is themselves. Getting your spirit painted for you is perhaps one of the most interesting things you have done to know yourself! In my discussion with Jonny I learned about myself and what other people felt about me.
What sorts of questions did Johnny ask me?
We talked about a fair number of things, specifically my relationship with Lauryn. Because he knew Lauryn well already, and had painted her spirit, he could easily intuit more about me. Some of the things we talked about were communication, my views on religion, God, other people and problem solving. The process can be a whatever you make it, and having an open mind and a willing disposition makes it a captivating experience.
What did Jonny Tell me about my painting?
After the reveal, Jonny sat down to tell me about what he felt during my painting and interview. Some of the things that he shared are personal and special, with that said, the most interesting thing he told me about my painting was the colors that emerged. He told me about the deep indigos and blues that reflect my creative and communicative nature. He talked about the orange representing grounded-ness and being down to earth. It was such an exciting thing, my words can’t do the experience justice.
If you want to get your spirit painted, or buy a gift for someone else to get their spirit painted, contact Jonny via his Instagram direct message. The best news: he can paint you via Skype! The big reveal is saved for when you open the painting from your mail delivery!

January 6, 2019I’ve never heard of having your spirited painted but that sounds incredibly amazing and something I totally want to do with my boyfriend and I.
Last year, I did a LOT of work on the west coast and Native American territory in terms of healthcare (I’m a doctor of pharmacy). I learned quite a lot about trying to find yourself, refocusing your energy and more on spiritual health.
This is so cool, and I love your end results, it’s absolutely beautiful and so meaningful. Thanks for sharing!
