Cute Stay At-Home Date Night Ideas That Will Make You A Closer Couple

3 Comments 3 min read

COVID has forced us to get creative for at-home date night. Instead of going out on the town, try getting cozy with your partner with an at-home date night! Not only will you save some cash money and have an equally great time as you would going out – but in the comfort of your own home.

Have an At-Home Spa Date

Listen, a stressful week at work can have you full of bad vibes, but it may be a sign that you are in need of a stay-at-home spa day! What better way to have one than with your partner in crime? It can be as simple as doing a 10-20 minute facial mask, giving your partner a massage, or even taking a detox bath. Or, you both can go all out and do all 3 for a full on spa night!

Start a DIY or Redecorate the House During At-Home Date Night

In contrast to the relaxing spa date, you both can start a DIY project or redecorate together. Spencer and I have been tie-dyeing shirts, making beaded bracelets, and making affordable at-home hacks since the beginning of the pandemic to keep us busy. If DIY isn’t your typical route, try redecorating, repainting your walls, reorganizing, or even moving furniture around the house. A little feng shui can make your home environment more inviting while you hang around the apartment.

Dress-Up Fancy for a Dinner At-Home Date Night

Unlike the previous 2, where you can get cozied up in comfy clothes, you can dress up with your partner for a fancy stay at home dinner date. You both can either make dinner together and dazzle your boo with your cooking skills. Or, order take out and have a candlelit dinner. Cue the romantic vibes!

Get a Couple’s Spirit Painting During At-Home Date Night

Although this may not be the first activity you think of when you think “date”, getting a Spirit painting is a great couples activity. Jonny the Spirit Painter does a video call with each person, or as a couple, and then creates a painting of colors and shapes by listening to your life stories and personalities. This can be a great way to connect and have gain new insight on your relationship. Plus, the paintings are great wall decor for any home!

Do a Couple’s Workout While Social Distancing At-Home

Contrary to popular belief, quarantine doesn’t have to mean all snacks and no working out! There are plenty of workouts you both can do together. HIIT is one of my favorite go-to exercises to do with Spencer. It doesn’t require a lot of your time, but you are workin’ up a sweat! Working out as a couple is a great bonding experience that is sure to bring you closer together as a team.

Book a Virtual Cooking Class For At-Home Date Night

Each of you learning how to improve your cooking skills is something you both can benefit from in a relationship.  There are options to take cooking lessons together online, via virtual class, so you don’t have to leave the house to learn. However, if you’re more of a “learn as you go” type of person, you both can always experiment in cooking something new together! During the beginning of quarantine, my husband and I got meal kit delivery services weekly while we became more comfortable with our cooking skills.

Create a Vision Board or Time Capsule of Your Relationship

In addition to all of the previous ideas, you both can always make a vision board or a time capsule of the relationship. A vision board is a great and powerful mind exercise. It uses the law of attraction and it focuses on how you want to feel. If a time capsule is more your speed, this is great to create and look back on in the future. It will be filled with items, pictures, journal entries, etc. all relating to your relationship.

Have a Board Game Date For Two

Let the games begin! Board games and card games are always a safe bet for a good time on date night. It always invites some friendly competition between you two love birds! If neither of you are competitive, or just don’t like board games, maybe try get to know you questions. Here are some of the games my husband and I want to try:

We do several of these quite frequently, because even pre-quarantine we were total homebodies and prefer to save our money anyways. But I haven’t done an at-home cooking class, and pair that with our fun evening of dressing up for an at-home dinner… it could be a winner evening! Great suggestions!
