What Do Your Rings Say About You?

Why do people wear rings?

Humans have a long history of adorning themselves with jewelry and rings. Rings have been discovered on ancient mummies and in burial sites. Today, we connect rings with marriage and union between two people as well as style. Rings also display a certain status, style, and taste for the finer things, which is why they have been commonly found on the remains of ancient royalty who had obvious reason to display their authority and status openly.

Similarly, as human anatomy was studied, it was thought that the vein from our fourth finger connected directly to our hearts. Placing an adornment on your fourth finger became a romantic symbol of a heart connection to another being, as well as the ability to remain loyal to another person. It’s the embodiment of the desire to stay true! In recent times, the engagement ring has become unquestionably linked with marriage. But what about other kinds of rings? Rings worn for style and as a show of fashion have other meaning.

What do your rings say about you?

It has been said that rings are an unbroken circle that can be traced in an infinite loop; a symbol of connection. This connection can be to others, to ideals, or to oneself. The rings we wear say something about who we are to the people around us!

Floral Rings

Without a doubt, owning floral rings is en vogue. Rings designed like plants are display of ones connection to the earth. It isn’t surprising that flowers, floral, and plant designs have long been a popular style for rings– even since ancient times. The natural beauty of flowers is easy to identify with. Floral rings are the sigil of self-love, confidence, and growth in the face of adversity.

Snake Rings and Animal Rings

If you know me well, you know that I’ve almost always had a snake ring. As an animal person, wearing a ring that reminds me of the life of other beings is important. However, animals are a symbol of vitality and vigor. It maybe wouldn’t surprise you to find an animal ring in the jewelry box of your wild, party going friends. Many feel a strong desire to display their sense of inner strength, spirit, and energy by wearing animal rings. I choose to wear a snake ring because it embodies feminine energy of change! Snakes shed their skin to become bigger and better, and I view life as a grand journey to learn and grow as we go!

Gemstone rings

These are full of light, unique patterns, and multiple facets. Gemstones are a mysterious and unique part of the earth. Each one has a different chemical or crystalline makeup and carry diverse meanings and healing energies. Many have believed since ancient times that gemstones have healing powers! For this reason, gemstone rings have long been found on the fingers of royalty, upper class, and style savvy patrons for generations. Before buying a gemstone ring, research the rich and interesting history of the gemstone it carries to see if your energy is compatible with it.

My rings are more than trinkets, they are an extension of my self view. I wear rings that say something about who I believe myself to be. When I look for a new ring I want to make sure it is both high quality, durable, and unique– just like I am! I recently tried out Teel Yes and have loved how original their designs are! The jewelry is durable, and I know that I am getting quality when I buy from them. It’s also pretty cool that the business is owned by two friends who wanted to provide for others a way to express themselves the way they wanted. This is such a fun post! I always wear half a dozen thin rings on various fingers and knuckles. It’s definitely my finishing touch! Hugs, Kait Elizabeth

I’ll admit, the only rings I wear are my wedding band and engagement ring. Eventually I even want a tattoo on that finger so I wouldn’t necessarily need to wear the rings unless I want to (but I do LOVE them so I might continue to either way). I’m not a huge ring person, but the ones you shared are all so pretty!

This is interesting! I ‘m not a ring person – I find them to really get in the way a lot during my day and I just never like the way they look on me (same with bracelets) haha!
