6 Nutrients You Need in Your Daily Skincare Routine

Why You Need Nutrients in Your Skincare Routine

Listen, I may only be twenty-seven, but anti-aging skincare is a serious passion of mine! The thing about anti-aging is that it is much easier to prevent than to reverse. Trying to reverse years of bad skincare, sun damage, pollutants, and eating habits will cost a fortune, and, hurt like hell! That’s one visit to the medical spa you don’t want to make. As we age, our bodies lose the ability to be as effective producing the nutrients we need for that morning glow. By adding healthy ingredients to your daily skin routine, you can shave off years and look thirty years old when you’re actually fifty. Here’s a list of ingredients you should be checking your skincare products for!

This post is sponsored by L’Bri Pure n’ Natural. All opinions are my own.

Key Ingredients to Include in Your Skincare Routine Products

Vitamin E

Additionally, Vitamin E is fabulous ingredient you want to have in your skincare products if you’re looking to prevent aging! Vitamin E can be found in other things, such as grape seed extract, which L’Bri Pure n’ Natural has in the Dermaplex A Line Reversal Peptide Serum. Vitamin E helps with moisturizing and healing scars.

Vitamin C

To begin with, Vitamin C is one of my favorite key ingredients for skincare! I have several products containing the vitamin because of its ability to neutralize free radicals. What’s a free radical? It’s an uncharged molecule (that comes from an external pollutant) looking to pair up– so it “steals” atoms from your skin molecules, damaging skin DNA along the way. Vitamin C is an antioxidant, which means it helps with the healing and repair process of skin. Not only that, but vitamin C is also helps with hyper-pigmentation. PRO TIP: Make sure to use your vitamin c products within a year of getting them; if they are used past expiration, they can cause more pigmentation.

Niacin (Vitamin B3)

When you ingest B vitamins, they help to break down what you eat and convert it to energy as well as helping liver function. However, when you put Niacin directly on your skin, the nutrient has multiple uses and function to stay looking youthful! Products containing Niacin are anti-inflammatory and can help with acne, uneven skin tone, dry skin, and even skin cancer prevention.

Hyaluronic Acid

Do you have dry skin? Hyaluronic Acid may just be your new best friend since it’s main purpose is to provide moisture! This product is gooey and clear and studies show that one gram of hyaluronic acid can contain up to six liters of water! It’s not an acid like what you might think; your body naturally produces it & it isn’t going to peel away your skin. However, adding more hyaluronic acid topically to your skin can add suppleness, speed up the healing process, and firm up facial skin! Currently, I am using L’Bri Pure n’ Natural’s Intense Moisture Boost Hyaluronic Acid Serum. You should also check out this Rovectin review for another great product containing hyaluronic acid.

Alpha Hydroxy Acid

Anytime someone tells me they are struggling with acne, I mention that they NEED AHA in their skincare routine! The ingredient exfoliates the top layer of skin, allowing your face to have a fresh glow and less acne. The best thing about it is that it doesn’t cause peeling! Time Erase AHA Slow Release Serum by L’Bri Pure n’ Natural contains alpha hydroxy acid and I include it in my nightly routine!

Retinol (Vitamin A)

If fine lines and wrinkles are your biggest concern, it’s time you add a retinoid to your regimen! Vitamin A (also known as Retinol) is an ingredient that, when used on the face, helps plump and reduce lines by increasing the production of collagen (what makes your skin have elasticity). It can also transform skin by helping with color and tone. If you want some of the benefits of Vitamin A without too much harshness, consider adding some lavender water into your skincare routine!

I’m missing like half of these in my skincare routine right now. I try my best to keep my skincare routine to a minimum because my skin is SO unhappy all the time, and I find that less is more. But when it comes to nutrients – maybe more is more. I should get some new products for myself soon.

I’m actually missing quite a few! I struggle with acne and have used all of these at some point, but not at the same time. Maybe I need to get an AHA again! Thanks for this informative post!

Honestly, I’m missing most of these! 🙁 I’m new to skin care, so I don’t have that many products. I’m always looking for new information, because skin care is just SO important! I think out of all of these, vitamin E would be the one that I need the most! I’m so excited to build my skin care, but there are so many options it gets confusing! Anyway, thanks so much for the advice!

I’ve recently added vitamin C and retinol to my routine and am loving the results. I haven’t tried much hyaluronic acid but I will pick that up next time. Thank you for sharing!

My skin has been horrible lately. I was just telling my husband that I’m pushing 30 and need to start taking care of my skin. This post is just what I needed to read.
