Food & Drink to Add to your Florida Keys Spring Itinerary

Have Breakfast in the Upper Keys at Robbie’s of Islamorada

If you’re looking for a true island experience, you have got to eat at Robbie’s of Islamroada. It’s a restaurant, dockside, with a real fisherman’s feel. As you walk in, you’ll notice the dollar bills that hang on every would-be-empty wall surface. Legend says that fisherman would put money up at their favorite waterhole each time they got a paycheck. That way, if it was their last, they would have some cash to pay for another drink. Psssst… If you’re headed up to the Gulf Coast of Florida, be sure to check out Anna Maria Island Restaurants. Love the funky feel of the Florida Keys? You’ll also jive with this small 30A town — here are the best things to do in Grayton Beach.

PRO TIP: the dishes here are big! Don’t be afraid to share. Also, be sure to staple your own signed dollar to the walls!

Tasting of Upper Keys Liquor and Beer

Have lunch and a drink at The Florida Keys only brewery and distillery– Islamorada Distillery. Along with serving delicious food in a Tiki picnic area, they have rum, gin, vodka, and beer on tap! Find a staff member and let them know you want to do a liquor tasting– it’s free! They also have a tasting flight on the menu to purchase if mixed drinks and beer are more your thing.

PRO TIP: whether you like key lime or not, you NEED to try the Spiked Frozen Key Lime. It’s delicious and will curb your craving for something sweet.

Sunset Dinner at Morada Bay Beach Cafe in the Upper Keys

For a family-friendly dining experience, head to Morada Bay Beach Cafe. There, you’ll sit amongst the palm trees on colorful tables on a sandy beach. The seafood bistro is delicious and the location can’t be beat!

PRO TIP: the best time to visit during the spring is between 6:30-8:00 p.m. You’ll catch the most beautiful sunset that is Instagram-worthy!

Breakfast Sandwiches and Coffee at Ana’s Cuban Cafe

If you’re stayimg at The Southernmost Resort, this little house-turned-cafe is a short walk away. Head to Ana’s Cuban Cafe for breakfast plates and coffee. The prices are very affordable!

PRO TIP: If you want a true Cuban sandwich, you have to visit at lunchtime or later.

Seafood Dinner at Half Shell Raw Bar in Key West

Truly, one of my favorite places we ate at during our time in Key West! Seafood lovers will rejoice at Half Shell Raw Bar‘s menu offerings. This is best visited at night when there is a rowdy crowd and the bar lights are all turned on. Dress casual, as you’ll be sitting on wooden picnic tables in an indoor-outdoor setting. We absolutely adored our server!

PRO TIP: If you’re a fan of lobster and clams, I urge you to get the Lobster Clam Bake! It’s a dish I will be dreaming about until I can have it once more.

Key West Dinner at The Docks on Stock Island

Finally, for those interested in an adult dinner, head to The Docks on Stock Island. A renovated hardware building, right next to the boat docks, decorated immaculately. The menu is only for those that are adventurous, extravagant, and into seafood– but it’s beautifully curated!

PRO TIP: On your way to this location, don’t get confused! This is where the livestock used to be kept, and thus is seemingly in the middle of nowhere. You’ll drive through a sleepy town to get to the restaurant.
